[Game Overview]
"In the face of a new game, every player is forever a freshman."
— Smarty-pants —
FreshMan is a action platformer where you must reach the destination within a tense 10-minute time limit. In this game, you will find no hand-holding text descriptions or tutorial dialogues. Players must discover and master the hidden rules of this world solely through their own 'actions.'
Do not fear failure; embrace the cycle of trial and error. Your controls and intuition are the only guidebooks you need.
[Developer’s Note: Game is Agency as art]
I believe what sets games apart from other media is 'agency through interaction.' Rather than being subordinate to visual spectacle or narrative, I wanted to create an experience where the player's proactive movement takes center stage. While there is still much to improve, I hope you enjoy the result of my efforts to capture the essence of 'why this must be a game.'
[Technical Stack]
Engine: Custom C++ Engine (Windows API, DirectX 11)
Libraries: ImGui, FMOD, FW1FontWrapper
[How to Run]
Extract the compressed file and locate the 'Bin' and 'Content' folders.
Run FreshMan.exe inside the Bin folder.
Note: The game may not function correctly if data files within the folders are deleted or moved.
